  1. Hello just a aspiring young Forensic Entomologist here. I was wondering what exactly your studying in grad school and if it is forensic entomology, how do you obtain your pig fetuses?

    1. Hey there Kris. So sorry I didn’t reply sooner. I was fortunate to be at a university with a large Agricultural sciences component. Pigs very often have stillbirths or simply roll over onto their piglets, killing them. Sad, but a very common occurrence on any farm. Talk with your local farmers. Some may be happy to let you take them. Just be sure to follow ALL of their protocols for the matter. There are serious diseases that can be easily spread.

As far as schooling, you would want to talk to someone with NAFEA (North American Forensic Entomology Association) about that. Your degree will very likely be something other than “Forensic” Entomology. But related somehow. Though, things may be changing.

Good luck. Let me know how things go.
